Michigan's offer CLARE cut
Hitmen defenseman commits to Michigan '10
November 25, 2008

Wayne, NJ - The Jersey Hitmen are proud to announce that former USA hockey Atlantic District and Hitmen stand out, Kevin Clare, has accepted a scholarship to play for the University of Michigan in the fall of 2010. Clare, who was the youngest player in the EJHL last season with a 3/13/92 birthdate, played 37 games with the Hitmen last season posting an impressive 3-13-16 line. He was one of the 'big four' rearguards in the Hitmen's magical championship run of 2007-2008. Clare now joins his other three defensive colleagues, Billy Day (Army '08), Andrew Himelson (Clarkson '10) and Ryan Ruikka (Boston University '08) with a division one commitment. Now with the USNTDP Clare chose Michigan over Vermont, UNH and Harvard.

"Kevin really deserves this," commented Hitmen head coach Toby Harris. "Last season he did everything we asked of him. He embraced the program, he competed hard and most of all he consistently came to work everyday, something that you do not see in such a young man. I am very proud of Kevin and what he has accomplished thus far. I am very happy for the Clare family and know that Kevin will be very successful in every facet of life whichever path he chooses. The Hitmen organization wishes him all the best!"
