Hitmen forward commits to UNH
Ivens-Anderson becomes 14th Hitmen commitment

Ansel Ivens-AndersonWayne, NJ - The Jersey Hitmen are proud to announce that EJHL veteran, Ansel Ivens-Anderson, has committed to the University of New Hampshire for the fall of 2009. Ivens-Anderson came to the Hitmen after playing 3 seasons with the NH Jr Monarchs. "I thought I needed a change of scenery," said Ivens-Anderson over the summer when asked about his move from the Monarchs to the Hitmen. "I had some good times and some tough times with the Monarchs and ultimately made the move to the Hitmen to revitalize my hockey career, and be closer to home. I am so happy that I came to play for the Hitmen and coach Harris."

A 2009 EJHL all-star, Ivens-Anderson lead the EJHL this season in powerplay goals with 14, and finished 14th in EJHL league scoring with a 24-31-55 line. "Ansel really solidified our powerplay from the point. He has a tremendous shot, great hands in small spaces, and a real knack for creating time and space for himself. Below the dots he protects the puck as well as anyone in our league," commented coach Harris. "When I sat down with Ansel over the summer to talk about our organization, and where our training could take him, he lit up, bought into our philosophy and worked hard to transform his body and spirit. I am so happy for Ansel and his family. UNH is a tremendous hockey program and I know coach Borek, Lassonde and Umile will love coaching Ansel."

Ivens-Anderson becomes the 14th Hitman to make his college commitment.
