Wayne, NJ - The Jersey Hitmen are proud to announce their 10th division one commitment and their 15th college commitment of the season as Nick Grasso has committed to play for American International College next fall. A.I.C is a member of the division one, Atlantic League and located in Springfield, Massachusetts.

"I am so happy for Nick and his family," commented coach Harris. "I really tip my hat to Nick for his hard work, perseverance and tenacity over the past couple of years."  Harris went on to say, "Nick was a trailblazer as he was one of the first under age players EVER to commit to a division one school as a 15 year old, and due to some tough breaks with a health issue that he fought over two whole seasons, Nick found himself battling for a scholarship with the Hitmen in 2007. After deciding to try his luck in the NAHL for a season in 2008, Nick found himself back in the EJHL as a 20 year old and continued to battle for toward his dream of playing DI hockey. At the trade deadline this past season the Hitmen were in need of a skilled veteran and they called on Grasso for his second stint with the club, and he did not disappoint. Grasso was a leader both in the room and on the ice and was instrumental in the Hitmen winning their second straight EJHL championship. I have no doubt in my mind that Nick has not only grown as a player, but he has grown as a person, A.I.C is getting a tremendous person in Nick Grasso."

Grasso ended his 08-09 season with a 4-29-33 line then went on to put up 6 points in 12 games in the Hitmen's championship run. Grasso a native of Smithtown, NY had this to say, "my goal and dream is to play division one hockey. I was so grateful when coach Harris gave me a chance to prolong my JR career and help the Hitmen win another EJHL title, by trading for me in February. Coach Harris, my dad and I have always had a very good relationship and I knew when he called me to tell me about the trade what he expected out of me and what I was there to do. I am so excited for the opportunity to take my game to the next level and to be given the opportunity to do so at A.I.C."  Grasso closed by saying, "I would like to thank my family for everything that they have done for me. Their support and their confidence in me has helped me in attaining one of my childhood dreams."
