Braun an All-Star Over the course of the past week the top players in the country from the 1992 birth year came together in Rochester, NY at the USA Hockey Player Development Festival. As 17 year olds this was their final opportunity to participate in the Festival and each player arrived intending to make their presence felt. Hitmen goaltender Matt Braun did just that. Braun, participating in the Festival for the second consecutive summer, was solid from start to finish. He did not allow more than 2 goals in any game he played and finished the week tied for second in goals against average at 2.82 and lead the tournament posting a .916 save percentage. For his efforts Braun was rewarded with one of four available goaltending spots in Monday’s All-Star game. In the All-Star game Braun allowed 2 goals on 22 shots, and certainly made people take notice. |
