Ex-Hitman to attend Blackhawks Camp

Wayne, NJ - The Jersey Hitmen are proud to announce that three year veteran, John Morea, was one of 53 prospects invited to attend the Chicago Blackhawks Prospect Camp. The camp will be held from July 6-10 at Johnny's Ice House in Chicago, IL. Only recent Blackhawk draft picks, highly sought after free-agents and free-agent signings were invited to participate in the camp.

A.I.C is a member of the division one, Atlantic League and located in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Ruthberg to Rutgers, Rose to Scranton

As tryouts for the 2009-10 season quickly approach the Hitmen are proud to announce that two members of the 08-09 U-19 team have decided on schools for next season. Matt Ruthberg will be taking his game down route 287 where he will suit up for the Ice Knights. Fellow teammate David Rose will head to Pennsylvania to the University of Scranton.

Rotting the Core
U-19’s Down Apple Core

The Jersey Hitmen came to the Ice Vault on Thursday night looking for redemption against the Long Island Apple Core who had swept them in a weekend series earlier this month. Redemption is exactly what they got. The Hitmen battled through injuries and ejections to claim a hard fought 2-1 win.
The first period saw Apple Core come out strong early, but the Hitmen would turn the tide and control the back half of the frame. The period was high paced, physical, and featured some excellent goaltender from John Layton of Apple Core and Matt Braun of the Hitmen. When the horn sounded to end the period the scoreboard read 0-0 with the Hitmen holding a 15-9 advantage in shots.
