Hitmen streaking as play-offs loom
Foxboro, MA - As the play-offs loom around the corner, the Hitmen have continued their hot play of late securing another 3 points this past weekend in Foxboro. Since losing at Syracuse on December 20, 2009, the Hitmen have compiled a record of 16-0-2 in the new year, including a huge 3-1 win this past weekend against the South Shore Kings.
"We are getting hot at the right time," commented coach Harris. "After that embarrassing loss in Syracuse the boys went on Christmas break giving that defeat time to marinate and rot. When we got back on the ice on December 30th I saw a new bunch of guys, they were hungry, they were more focused, and there was a feeling that they had a new lease on life determined to defend 'their EJHL title." Harris continued, "we also upgraded in goal, and on the back end with committed division one players, and highly sought after recruits. I am very excited with the direction that this team is going in. Every player has bought in, and every player is paying the price to win, its something special."
This weekend the Hitmen face off against the South Shore Kings at the Ice Vault in Wayne, NJ. After stealing one from South Shore the Kings lead in the south has shrunk, but both games should be very highly contested. Face off Saturday is 5:15pm, and Sunday the puck drops at 11:15am.
