Hitmen Rock Revolution
Playing a rare Friday night contest, their only game of the weekend, the Jersey Hitmen dominated the Philadelphia Revolution from the drop of the puck scoring two goals in the first minute of play and cruising to an 8-1 victory. With the win the Hitmen finished their season series against Philly with a record of 3-1-0.
Ali Thomas got the home team on the board with a power play goal just 45 seconds into the action. Kenny Pilanski and Jay Healey picked up assists on the play. Nick Lotito would add to the lead 15 seconds later with the help of David Ramos and Tim Clifton. The same trio would connect for the third Hitmen goal at the 5:30 mark when Lotito struck for his second of the game. Finishing off the period Michael Conte would hammer home a rebound with assists going to Andrew Canitano and Tommy Lindquist. Philly would score their only goal late in the period when CJ Cruz beat Hitmen goaltender Kyle Shapiro.
The second period saw the Hitmen continue to control the play as David Ramos scored just 1:43 into the frame. Tim Clifton and Nick Lotito picked up the assists on the play, giving the entire line a three point night. 17 seconds later RJ Burns, who had been in a bit of a goal scoring slump got himself on the board twice in the same shift. Connor Leen and Jason Healey picked assists on both of Burns’ goals. Leen would cap the scoring for the evening with assists to Burns and Healey. Healey finished the evening with four assists, while Burns and Leen put up three points a piece. Kyle Shapiro made 34 saves in his tenth victory of the season.
