Kurlandski commits to Amherst
Wayne, NJ - The Jersey Hitmen are proud to announce that assistant captain, Andrew Kurlandski, has committed to Amherst College for the fall of 2010. Amherst College is widely regarded as one of the nation's very best liberal arts colleges and currently ranked #2 in country for liberal arts colleges by U.S News & World Report.
Not only is Amherst one of the 'most respected' academic institutes in the country, but they are ranked #13 in the country in the USCHO.com division III men's hockey poll. Amherst is also in a heated battle for the NESCAC championship sitting just 3 points behind Bowdoin.
This is Kurlandski's second season with the Hitmen. In two years he has compiled a pretty impressive scoring line of 30-47-77 in 93 games. "Andrew is a tremendous person," commented coach Harris. "He is one of the most well conditioned, and intelligent players that has ever donned the carolina blue, and I am ecstatic for Andrew and his family."
Kurlandski is the third Hitman to become a Lord Jeff, following in the footsteps of Shane Lennox (Vancouver, BC) and ex-Hitmen assistant captain, Eddie Effinger (St. Louis, MO).
