Meryhurst calls on Jones
Wayne, NJ - The Jersey Hitmen are proud to announce that assistant captain, and two year EJHL veteran, Nick Jones has accepted a scholarship to Mercyhurst College for the fall of 2010. The native of Cranberry Township, PA, Jones finished 15th in EJHL scoring with a 7-15-22 line in 42 games. An intense competitor and excellent two-way defender, Jones becomes the 9th Hitman to commit to a division one school and 14th college commitment overall.
"I would just like to thank Coach Harris and Coach Hunt for making me a much better defenseman over my two seasons in New Jersey," commented Jones. "It was an awesome experience. I learned so much about nutrition, off ice training, and the game in general. It has always been a dream of mine to get a DI scholarship, and the Hitmen helped me to attain that!" Jones went on to say, "I also want to thank our owner Bobby Reiss and the Hitmen supporting staff for all the team meals and the impeccable facilities. This has been the best hockey experience of my life."
Jones will join Hitmen alum, Alex Gallen, on the blue line next season for the Lakers
