Jersey Hitmen Premier Go Undefeated at Chicago Showcase

Wayne, NJ - The Hitmen returned home going 4-0 at the Chicago Showcase beating the Dell Ducks, Richmond Generals, Steel County Blaze, and the Detroit Fighting Irish.  

The Hitmen were down 2-1 early vs. the Dell Ducks but scored 3 unanswered and added a late power play goal to seal the 5-3 win. Forward Trevor Veneklase (5,6) lead the way with 2 goals and linemate Abel Christians with 2 assists.  In Game 2, the Hitmen squeaked away with a 2-1 win vs. the Generals.  Starter Trevor Osborne was solid in net making 21 saves, Andrew Dreher (4) opened the scoring and Trevor Veneklase (7) scored the game winning and team leading 7th goal.  Up next were the Steel County Blades with the Hitmen winning 3-1.  Starter Cole Mulholland made 22 saves for his 4th win of the season. Forward and Assistant Captain Austin Master (2,3)  got the Hitmen an early 2-0 lead with back to back goals and Alec Rovitz (2) added the insurance for a 3-1 win.  In the final game the Hitmen found themselves down 1-0 versus the Detroit Fighting Irish, but answered with 5 unanswered goals.  Starter Trevor Osborne made 18 saves for his 4th win of the season, Alvari Rautiainen (3),  Zach Thompson (2), Lukas Kucera (3), Coltin Craigo (2) and Charles Stewart (3) added goals in the win.

Head coach Dan Henningson on the team: "The team has bonded over the trip and it shows with the results.  We were short handed for the showcase with a bunch of injuries and everyone stepped up.  Everyone has bought in to our systems very quickly and we have a great group of guys that are playing for one another."
