NCDC Playoffs Spotlight: New Jersey Hitmen

The New Jersey Hitmen were in a league of their own this regular season finishing with an astonishing 43-7-0-0 record and 86 points. 

They finished 19 points clear of the second place Junior Bruins (32-15-2-1, 67 pts). This earned them the top seed in the playoffs and a three-game series at home at the Ice Vault in Wayne, New Jersey.

 

 

 

Head-to-Head vs Cyclones 2018-19

 

The Hitmen were 2-0-0-0 against the Cyclones this season, beating them  on the road twice, 5-1 on February 9 and 5-2 the following day. 

 

Against other playoff teams, as judged by their overall regular season record, they also experienced multitudes of success. 

 

Vs. Junior Bruins: 2-2-0-0; Vs. Connecticut Jr. Rangers: 3-2-0-0; Vs. Islanders Hockey Club: 5-0-0-0; Vs. New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs: 3-1-0-0; Vs. Syracuse Stars: 5-0-0-0; Vs. Boston Bandits: 4-0-0-0. 

 

 

Players to Watch

 

Hitmen forward Philip Elgstam led the league in regular season scoring with 64 points. He was second in goals with 25 lamplighters and fourth in assists with 39 helpers. 

 

Tanner Palocsik led the league in assists with 44 and finished with 55 points. Remy Parker (18g, 34 a, 52 pts) and Antoine Belisle (21g, 29a, 50 pts) also had very solid seasons for the Hitmen.

 

Between the pipes, Evan Szary was 19-3-0-0 with a 2.19 GAA and .914 save percentage, and Jake Begley went undefeated in his appearances since joining the Hitmen
