The 2019 Hitmen Classic is in the books. Another fantastic four-day weekend of NCDC and full-season Midget action ran from Thursday afternoon right through Monday evening with well over 50 hockey games played. Monday itself featured 11 contests. 

USPHL 18U 

Islanders Hockey Club North 0, Philadelphia Hockey Club 0

Palmyra Black Knights 10, Cyclones Academy Elite 1

Jason Rippon scored three goals and three assists to propel Palmyra to a big win. Jake Spina also had three goals. 

Jersey Shore Whalers 4, Connecticut Jr. Rangers 1

The Whalers earned their first victory at the showcase in its third and final try. Will Herrington scored two goal and added one assist, and Chandler Cable stopped 34 of 35 shots in net. 

Skipjacks Hockey Club 7, Cyclones Academy Premier 4

Caden Freer, Clark Bolin and Johnny Wescoe each posted two goals and two assists for a buzzing Skipjacks team, which went 3-0 at the Classic. 

Palmyra Black Knights 3, Islanders Hockey Club North 3

Jake Spina scored two goals and Gabriel Page tied the game with 19 seconds remaining. With that, they and the Islanders - who had three different goal-scorers - had to settle for the tie. 

New York Aviators 7, Cyclones Academy Elite 2

The Aviators went 3-1 for the weekend. James Penzavecchia scored two goals and added two assists, one of three Aviators with at least three points for the day. 

Philadelphia Hockey Club 5, Connecticut Jr. Rangers 3

Philadelphia Hockey Club went without a loss during its stand at the Hitmen Classic, ending with this big win over Connecticut. Frank Jirak led the way offensively with two goals. 

USPHL 16U Division 

Connecticut Jr. Rangers Red 5, Potomac Patriots 1

The Rangers had five different goal-scorers, and Winston Mock stood with the game-winner for the Rangers Red team’s first victory at the Classic, and for the 2019-20 season. 

Cyclones Academy Premier 3, Skipjacks Hockey Club 1

Coby Fox scored one goal and two assists, and Cade Cobin made 31 saves on 32 shots. 

P.A.L. Jr. Islanders 4, Jersey Shore Whalers Elite 2

The Jr. Islanders finished out the Classic by a 3-1 record. Joseph Sousa scored the game-winner early in the third and the P.A.L. continued their 52-shot barrage from there, not getting any more behind Cooper Reilly (48 saves).

Jersey Shore Whalers Premier 4, New York Aviators 2 

The Whalers won both of their games at the Classic, as Justin Lidondici and George Hinds each posted one goal and two assists.
