WAYNE NJ – After a weekend sweep against the Providence Capitals, the Hitmen looked to continue their winning ways against the New Hampshire Monarchs.

Travis Geraci (4) opened the scoring in Game One with a power play goal,  finishing on rebound from a point shot from Defenseman Ryan Romeo.  Romeo ’96 from Fairport, NY leads the Hitmen in scoring for Defensemen with 20 points (6 goals and 14 assists) in 24 games.  The Monarchs chipped away at the lead and took a 2-1 lead midway through the third period.  With four minutes remaining in regulation time, Mike Meisenbacher (7) sprung in on a breakaway after a Monarchs’ turnover and finished on a nice forehand- backhand goal to tie the game up at two.  It didn’t take long for the Hitmen to finish the comeback, with 31 seconds into OT, Defenseman Connor Collier (3) joined the rush and capitalized on a nice pass from Glenn Florczak to give the Hitmen a 3-2 victory.  Starter Nick Modica made 26 saves and improves his record to 6-2.

Contrary to Game One, it was the Monarchs turn to score first in Game Two.  The Hitmen would quickly respond scoring two unanswered to take a 2-1 lead into the third period.  But the pesky Monarchs would not back down scoring two of their own unanswered goals taking a 3-2 lead midway into the third.  Mike Meisenbacher (8) would bang home a rebound to tie the game up at 3-3 and take the game into OT for consecutive nights.  Meisenbacher continued his hot streak, forcing a turnover in the neutral zone and scoring on another breakaway to score the game-winning goal in overtime.  Starter Robbie Campbell made 25 saves for 6th win of the season.  Campbell ’95 is now 6-3 with a 2.37 GAA and a .917 SV%.

UP NEXT The Hitmen travel to Portland to take on the Pirates in a two game weekend set.  With the sweep, the Hitmen are now on a 4-game winning streak and 5- game point streak.  The Hitmen currently sit 3rd in the USPHL North Standings.
