18U earn 6 league points at the IHC Showcase

November 7th – The Jersey Hitmen 18U continue their winning streak with a 6 to 3 victory over the Bay State Breakers. Goaltender Ryan Glander back stopped the victory by making 13 saves on 16 shots on goal. Chris Mazzella opened the scoring at the 2:33 mark with a power-play goal. Robert Clerc would take the lead back at the 14:28 mark with an assist from Kyle Hallbauer. Dylan Stephanik and Danny Reidel would add to the Hitmen total to give the Hitmen and 4 to 1 lead at the half. Alex Whelan and Matt Kidney would add one goal each to secure the Hitmen’s 6 to 3 victory.

November 8th – The 18U team would continue league play against Islanders Hockey Club. Goaltender Tyler Harmon would stop all 16 shots on goal for the 8 to 0 shutout victory. First half scoring would include two goals for Todd Goehring and one each for Hunter Garlasco and Chris Mazzella. The Hitmen would take a 4 to 0 lead at the end of the first half. The Hitmen would continue their dominating play against IHC with 4 additional unanswered goals in the second half by Chris Mazzella, Justin Nicholson, Kyle Hallbauer and Rob Clerc. The 18U team would continue to dominate league play with a Saturday night tilt vs. the South Shore Kings. Tyler Harmon would continue his shutout streak by stopping all 15 shots he faced. The Hitmen’s offence would explode in the first half with 6 unanswered goals by Hunter Garlasco (2), Rob Clerc, James Hunt Jr., Dylan Stephanik and James Callahan. The South Shore Kings would change goaltenders in the second half and the Hitmen offense would produce one more goal by Mike Jordan to secure the 7 to 0 victory.

The 18U Hitmen resume play Saturday November 22nd vs. the NJ Colonials at 6 PM at Mennen arena and Sunday, November 23rd at 10:15 AM vs. league opponent Wilkes Barre Scranton Knight’s at the Revolution Ice Center.
