WAYNE NJ –

After a disappointing weekend against the Jr. Bruins, the Hitmen hit the road looking to break out of a current 3-game losing streak. The Hitmen turned their attention to the Providence Capitals with an already 2-0 record against the Capitals.

In Game 1, the Hitmen took out their frustration against the Capitals with a 12-1 win. Nathan Black (7, 8, 9, 10) was unstoppable leading the way with four goals. Line mate Ian Malone added four assists and Connor Collier lead the defensemen with one goal and two assists. Starter Robbie Campbell made 24 saves for his 5th win of the season. Campbell ’95 from Raritan, NJ sports a 2.37 GAA and a .919 SV%.

The Hitmen kept their foot on the pedal in Game 2 with a win against the Capitals 11-0. The Hitmen had 10 different goal scorers: Travis Geraci (3), J.R Barone (11), Glenn Florczak (13), Ian Malone (2), Nathan Black (11), Devon Palmieri (12,13), William Walker (1), Mike Meisenbacher (6), Lucas Luppino (8) and Ryan Romeo (5). All players contributed in a well-balanced attack. Starter Mike Cuozzo earned his first shutout of the season for his 4th win. Cuozzo is now 4-3 with an impressive 1.71 GAA and a .920 SV%.

Head Coach Dan Henningson’s assessment on the team’s play in recent games: “I like how we’ve competed in our last three games now. Although we lost to the Jr. Bruins in OT, we fought and believed that the game could have gone either way. We carried our competition level over to Providence and it paid off. We’re starting to understand what our identity is and believing in our philosophy.”
