18U sweep the CT. Rangers

September 13th – The Jersey Hitmen 18U team continue their winning streak with a 5 to 0 win vs. the CT. Rangers in Stamford, CT on Saturday night. Goaltender Ryan Glander continued his stellar play with his second shut-out of the early season. Ryan stopped all 24 shots he faced. The first period ended in a scoreless tie. The Hitmen would explode in the second with two goals from Connor Tierney and one by Alex Whalen. James Callahan, Bobby Hampton, Kyle Hallbauer and Mike Jordan would gain a point each for the assists. The Hitmen would connect early with a goal at the 2:17 mark of the third with a goal by Chris Mazzella, with the lone assist by Dylan Stephanik. Matt Kidney would score the final goal of the period and the 5th for the Hitmen to secure the victory.

September 14th – The Hitmen would continue their outstanding defensive play Sunday afternoon by completing the series sweep with 7 to 1 win over the Rangers. Goaltender Tyler Harmon would back stop the victory by stopping 24 of the 25 shots he faced. Alex Whelan would break open the scoring at the 3:40 mark of the first with an assist by Bobby Hampton. Danny Reidel would open the second period with a goal at the 15:12 mark, with the assists going to Connor Tierney and Casey Delorenzo. Rob Clerc would add two of his eventual three goal output with goals at the 12:05 mark and 11:36 mark of the second. Brendon O’Callahan would net his first of the season late in the second. Bobby Hampton and Rob Clerc would net the final goals of the game for the Hitmen and Rob Clerc would register his first career Hat-Trick in a Hitmen uniform.

The 18U Hitmen hit the road this coming weekend travelling to Marlboro, MA for the Boston Jr. Bruins shoot-out tournament.
