Labor Day weekend: After a week of our annual Scott Stevens camp, the U14 minors headed to the Southern Shores of Massachusetts to compete against some of the best Tier 1 teams in the north east. The game results were not as we had hoped for, however, the team continues to work hard and strive to be better.

As the weekend progressed the boys found their scoring touch. After only scoring one goal in each of the first two games they scored 2 in the third game and 4 goals in each of the final two games. In one of the final two games of the weekend, the team beat the South Shore Kings by a 4-2 margin. Lucas Podvey was in net for his second win of the season. In the game, all of the goals that were scored were by four different goal scorers. Our newest addition to our team and our youngest player (2002 birth year), Connor Sedlak continues to impress with 1 goal and 2 assists for the weekend.

The weekend for the 2001 Hitmen saw some standout efforts this weekend. Rory Mauer scored or had an assist in 4 of the six games over the weekend for a total of 4 goals and 1 assist. Jason Atkinson burst onto the scene for the 2001 team with his hard play and tenacious fore checking over the weekend. His efforts produced three assists for the weekend. Coach Barling from the 2000 Major team was so impressed with the performances from both Jason and Rory that he asked them to fill in and play for his team over the weekend earning the boys valuable playing time at the Major level. On the blue line Sean Vlasich turned in a solid weekend logging heavy ice time for both the 2001 and 2000 teams. Sean played most of the weekend for both teams.
