Wayne, NJ - The Jersey Hitmen are proud to announce that alumni D, Joseph Masonius, has been ranked on NHL central scouting for the 2015 NHL draft. Masonius, is the true picture of the Hitmen developmental ladder, first suiting up for the Hitmen AAA spring/summer program as a youngster. From there, Joe then signed on with the Hitmen full time, playing for the Hitmen 18U, Empire and Premier teams from 2011-2013.

Most recently, Masonius has spent the past two seasons in Ann Arbor, MI playing with the United States National Team Development Program. In 2013-2014, Masonius suited up for the USNTDP 17U team, and this season, Masonius is part of a strong, USNTDP 18U squad. A native of Spring Lake, NJ, Masonius committed to the University of New Hampshire in October of 2013 while in Hitmen blue.

A left shot defenseman, Masonius is known for his offensive play, as he showcased in the 2015 NHL top prospects game scoring Team West's first goal. At 6'1 190lbs, Masonius is a very smooth skater, with a great stick and an 'edge'. Masonius is projecting, from college and pro scouts alike, to be a very good division one defenseman and pro player.
