Pesce and Clifton selected in 2013 NHL Draft

The Jersey Hitmen are proud to announce two alumni have been selected in the 2013 NHL Draft.

Brett Pesce was drafted #66 by the Carolina Hurricanes. Pesce was the first NCAA division one player taken in the draft. The 6'2 defenseman from Tarrytown NY, currently a freshman at UNH, patrolled the Hitmen blue line in 2012-13 before matriculating to Durham, NH. He also becomes the highest NHL draft in the teams 9 year history and the fourth overall NHL draft selection.

Connor Clifton has been selected #133 (round 5) in the NHL entry draft today by the Phoenix Coyotes.

Clifton, a 5'11 - 185lb defenseman from Matawan, NJ was a three year veteran of the Hitmen organization. This season Clifton skated with the USNTDP.

The Quinnipiac College recruit and 2013 USA World JR camp invitee, is known for his punishing open ice hits & tremendous skating ability. Clifton becomes the second Hitmen alumni defenseman taken in the draft today and fifth Hitmen NHL draft pick in team history.
