Wayne, NJ - Hitmen premier captain and Holy Cross recruit, Michael Laffin, has had a season for the ages. The Hopewell Junction, NY native has been the most consistent player in the USPHL this season and has been a major part of the Jersey Hitmen success this year. Currently the leading scorer in the USPHL Premier division, Laffin has racked up a 29-57-86 scoring line in 48 games played.

Over the weekend, Laffin, shattered the Jersey Hitmen single season scoring record set in the 2007-2008 season by EJHL superstar, Jeremy Langlois. Langlois, who record 83 points in 45 EJHL games, went onto a glorious career at Quinnipiac University leading the Bobcats to a NCAA final appearance his senior year.

"Mike is a special kid," commented coach Harris. "He is one of those guys you get every decade or so. He is a workhorse (never missed a game in two seasons with the Hitmen). He is skilled. He is the hardest worker on the ice. He is a born leader. When he speaks people listen. On top of that, he is skilled, can score goals, has great vision and is truly a 'go-to' guy when we are down a goal. I can not say enough about Michael Laffin, as there are not many players that you come across that his skills and work ethic mirror his intangibles."

A 1995 birthdate, Laffin, was listed on the NHL mid term rankings in 2013. In that same season, Laffin laced up the skates and played 4 games with the USNTDP when they made their annual swing through the northeast.

On January 16th, Laffin notched 2 assists against the CT Jr. Rangers. These 2 assists broke the USPHL all time scoring record, held by ex-teammate and Hitmen captain, Dominic Trento. Trento's 69 points in year one of the USPHL was good for tops in the league and USPHL offensive player of the year accolades.

Sitting at 86 points with two regular season games, Laffin looks to push forward and do all he can to help the Hitmen win another Dineen Cup championship.
