Marlboro, MA- Josh Henke scored a goal and an assist and Chris Funkey made 31 saves to lead the Jersey Hitmen to a 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers in the second game of the USPHL Premier Division Dineen Cup Championship Series.

Funkey and Flyers goaltender Joe Young were kept busy in the opening minutes, but neither gave an inch until Santino Ragone scored from Henke and Bryan Yim 7:16 into the contest.

Ryan Badger tied the game with a shorthanded goal with 2:51 remaining in the period when he picked up a loose puck and skated down the center and fired the puck past Funkey.

Neither team scored in the second period despite plenty of opportunities. Young turned away 17 shots during the frame while Funkey stopped 12.

Henke netted the game-winner with 14:54 remaining in regulation when he skated around two defensemen and beat Young with a shot down low. Yim and Joe Kinsella assisted on the play.

The Flyers forced Funkey to make several big saves in the closing minutes and pulled Young, who made 39 saves in the game, for an extra attacker with 1:07 on the clock, but they could not net the equalizer.

The win gives the Hitmen the USPHL Premier Division Championship after a runner-up finish last season.

Congratulations to the Jersey Hitmen and Philadelphia Flyers on excellent seasons.
