Wayne NJ- The Hitmen had a few weekend games off due to scheduling and inclement weather, but that time away did not impact the team with a satisfying sweep against the PAL Islanders.

The Hitmen came out a little sluggish in Game 1 against the Islanders.  The Hitmen and Islanders traded goals in the first making it 2-2; Ian Bernes (17) opened the scoring and Mark Tomaschek (6) scored late to tie it up.  The Hitmen added two more from defenseman Walt Keiper (3) and captain Devon Palmieri (10) to seal the win.  Starting goalie Josh Welte made 23 saves for his 4thwin of the season.

The Hitmen gave up an early goal in Game 2 but quickly tied it up the following shift and never looked back beating the Islanders 7-2.  Ian Bernes and Robert Jaworski each had 4 points, Bernes added two goals and two assists while Jaworski had a hat trick and an assist.  Bernes leads the team with 19 goals and 32 points in 32 games and Jaworski has 8 points in his last 3, games giving him 21 points for the year.  Blair Barrows (2)  and Casey Delorenzo (7) added tallies in the win while Nick Modica made 18 saves for his 10th win of the season.  Modica now holds a 1.90 GAA and a .941 SV% ranking him in the top 3 for goalies in the USPHL.
