(Foxboro, MA) - The South Shore Kings Showcase concluded on Monday after the teams from the Premier, Elite, and USP3 Divisions competed in a tense weekend of hockey in front of over 100 scouts.

In the Premier Division, the Jersey Hitmen and Philadelphia Flyers emerged as the big winners, going undefeated on the weekend.

The Hitmen tightened the race for the Founders Cup by winning all three of their games. On Friday, the Hitmen downed the South Shore Kings, who entered the tournament tied for third place. A tilt on Saturday against the Springfield Pics brought another two points, and the Hitmen finished with a win on Sunday over the division-leading Islanders Hockey Club. The Islanders now lead the Hitmen by only one point with two games remaining.

The Philadelphia Flyers took home a perfect 4-0 record thanks to three wins over the Okanagan European Eagles and a victory on Sunday morning over the Jr. Pirates Hockey Club.

In the Elite Division, the South Shore Kings took advantage of the home ice with a 5-0 record on the weekend. After starting off with a hard-fought win over the Jr. Pirates to open the showcase on Friday, the Kings edged the Syracuse Stars to bring their weekend record to 2-0. The Kings had rematches with the Pirates and Stars on Saturday and took both contests by identical 2-0 scores. Monday saw the Kings pick up another shutout win, this time over the Bay State Breakers.

The Jersey Hitmen also turned in an impressive weekend, going 3-1 in their slate of games. The team started off with a 3-2 win over Rochester on Friday and closed out the day with a 2-1 win over Bay State. Saturday saw the Jr. Americans take the rematch of their early Friday contest. Sunday saw the Hitmen end the weekend on a high note, downing the Breakers in another rematch.

The USP3 Division saw the Jersey Shore Whalers emerge as the one undefeated team on the weekend thanks to a pair of wins over the Springfield Pics as well as victories over the Junior Bruins and Islanders Hockey Club.

The big winner, however, was the Jersey Hitmen, who posted a 3-1 record to lock up the USP3 North title. The Hitmen rattled off three straight shutouts over the Junior Bruins, Islanders Hockey Club, and Springfield Pics, before falling to the Bruins in a rematch of their Saturday tilt.
