Simon Boyko has signed his letter of intent to join the University of Vermont’s men’s hockey team for the 2018-19 season.

The Lorne Park native has spent the last two seasons playing in the United States after wrapping up his minor hockey career with the Toronto Jr. Canadiens.

He scored 38 points (11 goals and 27 assists) in 37 games with the US Premier Hockey League’s New Jersey Hitmen last season. The year before, he averaged almost two points per game with 39 (10 goals and 29 assists) in 21 games with Selects Hockey Academy in the USPHL Under-18 loop.

Two years ago in his minor midget season, he won a gold medal with Team Ontario at the Canada Winter Games in Prince George, BC.
