From his very first meeting with the coaches, Moe Acee always felt he belonged at Saint Lawrence University.

And it didn’t take long for the Saints coaching staff to realize that Moe was exactly the type of player they were looking for.

His smooth skating, excellent puck control and on-ice vision quickly solidified Acee as a highly sought after Division I defensive prospect. As evidence of his outstanding credentials, the process for Moe ended almost as quickly as it started.

Moe said, “Saint Lawrence saw me at several showcases and the New York State district tryout. I met the coaches and knew it was the right fit for me.” He continues, “I love the campus, the academics are tremendous, the program is well-established and the location is ideal for me and my family.”

Acee plays club hockey for the Jersey Hitmen 16U team of the USPHL. Brack Healy, his current club coach, believes Saint Lawrence struck gold, “He defends so well in his own end, but what is really special about Moe is his ability to transition from defense to offense. He truly is the best of both worlds. His commitment to defense and talented offensive skills make him a very dangerous two-way player.”

What the Saints have acquired is an excellent shutdown defenseman who is regularly matched up against other team’s top scoring units. Healy believes Moe’s skating ability, vision on the ice and heavy shot makes him an offensive threat as well. Healy continued, “The Saints really landed an exceptional athlete in Moe. He has great character, an unbelievable work ethic and he excels in the classroom. Above all, he is a highly proficient hockey player who has an incredibly bright future.”

Moe plans on skating his freshman year with the Saints during the 2020-2021 season.
