The Jersey Hitmen are proud to announce that 2016-2017 Captain, Oscar Skiöld, officially was added to the University of Wisconsin Badgers' roster last week after a tryout period that started when the team returned from a holiday break.

"He keeps up with practice," Badgers coach Tony Granato said. "There's something there. What comes of it, I don't know. But we're going to give him that chance to practice with us and see if he can stay ready in case we need him at some point."

The addition of Skiöld, a 21-year-old freshman from Stockholm, gives the Badgers 16 forwards among their 29 players.

Skiöld, listed at 5-foot-11 and 176 pounds, played the last two seasons with the Jersey Hitmen of the United States Premier Hockey League. In 96 games played, Skiöld banked a scoring line of 33-79-112. In 2016, Skiöld won a Dineen Cup Championship with the Hitmen. He's enrolled at UW for the second semester.
