One win, two losses and a tie might not look good on paper but the 16U Premier team grew as one cohesive unit this past weekend in Minnesota. Playing against top competition the Hitmen were 0.1 seconds away from boarding their plan with a 2-2 record. A last second goal dampened the weekend in what was otherwise a very successful team bonding experience. Each game was a tightly contested, physical battle in which the 16U squad never backed down. The weekend was highlighted with a come from behind 3-1 victory over the Minnesota Loons and a 1-1 tie against the Blue Ox.
On full display this weekend was the team’s commitment to defense and solid goaltending. Tristan Neubart was sensational in net, stopping 53 of 55 shots he faced while going 1-0-1.
The Hitmen return to action this Friday night when they host the New Jersey Rockets.
