Jersey Hitmen 15U Pure Weekend Recap

The 15u Hitmen team completed a five game sweep of USPHL opponents at the IHC showcase moving itself into sole possession of first place in the 15U division. The team started the weekend on Friday by beating the PAL Islanders by a score of 5-3. Goaltender David Lee played well in net making 29 saves in leading his team to victory. Matthew Imbriano had 2 goals while Andrew Low and Jake Leale had one each. Dom Mas added an empty netter. Michael Angeletti had 2 assists as well as Low. Tommy Gilligan and Daniel Ilizarov chipped in with 1 assist. 

 

In the Friday night game, the team earned its second win of the weekend by beating the Palm Beach Hawks 5-1. Michael Bussanich played well in net and made some key saves stopping 23 shots. Thor Hansen and Matt Imbriano both tallied twice with Andrew Low scoring the other goal. Tommy Gilligan and Daniel Ilizarov had 2 assists each while Jake Leale, Low, Dom Mas and Michael Angeletti all had one each.

 

The Saturday morning game at Essex Sports Arena brought in a good opponent in the Jersey Shore Whalers. The team defeated the Whalers by a score of 5-2. This game added some physicality that was not present in the first two games of the weekend. David Lee played well in net securing the victory as well as John Dunphey completing  the hat trick late in the game. Gilligan and Imbriano each had a goal for the hitmen as well. Thor Hansen(1), Imbriano(2) and Gilligan(1) all assisted on goals.

 

The next opponent was the Springfield Pics. With a short Hitmen bench, the Pics were defeated by a score of 5-2. Bussanich was solid in net for the victory. Stefan Brockmann, Joe Caldiero, Thor Hansen, Jack Noel and Tommy Gilligan all scored goals. Drew Hansen, Ricky Demario, Noel, Dom Mas and Joe Bossolina all had assists as well as Thor Hansen and Tommy Gilligan with 2 each.

 

Game 5 was a 3-1 victory over the Palm Beach Hawks. Drew Hansen, Luke McGee and John Dunphey all scored for the Hitmen while Gilligan(2), Noel, Dunphey and McGee all had one.David Lee had 18 saves for the win. Defensemen Drew Hansen, Ricky Demario, Joe Bossolina and Dom Mas played well all weekend as the team had to play with only 4 D men for a part of game 3 and all of games 4 and 5. With the five wins the team moved into first place in the division with 26 points. Well done job by the boys for the weekend.
