Jersey Hitmen Premier Sweep USPHL Winter Showcase

Wayne NJ - The New Jersey Hitmen Premier came out of the holiday break winning four straight at the USPHL Showcase.  The Hitmen beat the Atlanta Jr. Kings 3-2, Midwest Blackhawks 2-1, Chicago Cougars 7-0 and the Carolina Eagles 5-1.  

 

Forward Artem Buzoverya lead the team in scoring with  5 goals with 3 assists for 8 points, forward Josh Mead 1G, 7A for 7points and  Landon Wittenberg recorded 3G, 3A for 6 points. Defenseman Egor Nosov lead the defenseman finishing the weekend with 1G, 4 A for 5 points.  Goalies were lead by Cole Mulholland with 2 wins, Chris Foley recorded a shutout and Trevor Stenberg earned a victory in his start.  

 

Head coach Dan Henningson on the weekend " Our guys played extremely well and I thought we got better as the weekend progressed.  Playing 4 games in 3 days is tough but we played simple team game and we benefited from it."

 

UP NEXT

The Hitmen will travel down to their instate rivals the Jersey Shore Whalers for one game on Sunday morning at 9:30am.  The Hitmen are 3-0 vs the Whalers this season.  The Hitmen improved their record to 20-11-1 and sit third in the mid-atlantic conference.
