Thursday the 18’s traveled to Long Island for a rivalry match up with PAL. The only Hitmen regulation goal was scored by Mike Slavik, his first of the year. PAL later tied it up and the score stayed that way until Overtime. TJ Schweighardt got a feed from McLinskey 38 seconds into OT to seal the win. John Werber turned away 18 shots.
Saturday the Hitmen again traveled to the island to play PAL. This match was more of the same with both teams needing overtime and a shootout to decide the contest. Regulation goals scored by Worob and McLinskey which erased a 2 goal deficit. Overtime quickly ended as no team was able to convert on their opportunities. Will Frassetto got the Hitmen going in the shootout, sniping a shot right over the blocker side of Matt Shore. 6 rounds passed with John Werber stopping 5 of the shooters. Brett Schnieder had the shootout winner with a crafty move to beat the goaltender.
Sunday’s finale was an interstate matchup with the NJ Rockets. Hitmen goal scorers were Schweighardt, Attkinson, Carducci and Worob while Kobylansky was superb in net stop all 17 shots he faced as the 18’s went on to win 4-0.
The 18’s will be at the IHC showcase this weekend playing 3 games vs Springfield Pics and the IHC Islanders.
18U Hitmen went 3-0 this week playing in 3 USPHL games. A Halloween match up vs the NJ Rockets ended up in a 4-1 victory with goals from Bizal, Carducci, Sedlak and McLinskey. Werber got the win turning away 21 shots.
The weekend series vs the Jr. Bruins brought the typical rivalry atmosphere that the two clubs usually possess at any age level. The Hitmen went out to a 3-0 lead with goals from Schweighardt, Tartaglione and Patrica. The Bruins stormed back with 3 third period goals to tie it 3-3 with 3:22 remaining. The 18’s remained calm and eventually broke through with two late in the third. Brayden Patricia score the game winner with 2:13 left and Connor Tartaglione put the icing on the cake with a ENG with :21 remaining. Weber turned away 17 shots.
Sunday morning was the second game of the weekend series vs the Jr. Bruins. The Hitmen won 6-3 with goals from Attkinson (2 goals), Patricia, Tartaglione, Carducci and McLinskey. Werber turned away 24 shots.

The 18u Hitmen beat Team Virtua at home mid-week, 3-2 off of two 3rd period Brett Schnieder goals and a 24 save performance by John Werber. The week continued traveling up to Marlbough MA for the Boston Jr. Bruins Showcase. The 18u team opened the weekend up against the 2018 National Championship Runner-up Cape Cod Whalers. I tight contest prevailed with a Nate Defares tally from Vlasic and McLinskey which proved to be the only goal in the game. John Werber was locked in making 49 saves in 1-0 shutout.
Saturday featured the Hitmen Playing a very deep Eastern Mass Senator team. Again Brett Schnieder found the back of the net followed by Will Frassetto burying his first two of the year and Everest Schnieder getting on the score sheet. John Werber made 34 saves in a game which ended in a 4-4 tie. Later that day the Hitmen dropped the puck again the South Florida Hockey Academy. Once again Brett Schnieder continued his hot play scoring two goals off of feeds from Tristian Frese, Oscar Worob and Rory Mauer. Connor Tartaglione found the back of the net to break a 2-2 tie late in the second period. Artem Kobylyansky made 24 saves in the 3-2 win.
