15U Hitmen sweep AYHL opponents over weekend

The Hitmen 15U team beat the Mercer Chiefs 15U squad 5-4 on Friday night at the ice vault. The offense was provided by Matt Imbriano(2 goals), Joe Caldiero(1),John Dunphey(1) and Andrew Low(1). The Hitmen outshot the Chiefs 47-22 in a game where the passing was precise. Luke Mcgee played well and set up many scoring chances. The hitmen squad played well throughout and got the game winner late in the game. David Lee was in net for the win.

On Saturday night the 15U team beat the colonials 15U team 4-2 at Mennen Sports Arena. The offense had many opportunities as the team outshot the Colonials 15U team 38-31. Goals were scored by Tommy Gilligan, Daniel  Ilizarov, Michael Angeletti and Jake Leale. This was a fast pace game that had the plenty of intensity. Michael Bussanich picked up the victory in goal.

15 Pure Weekend Recap

The Hitmen 15 Pure team started league play with three wins and a loss over Labor Day Weekend at Chelsea Piers. Game 1 was a 3-2 victory over PAL islanders. goals by Tommy Gilligan (2) and Jake Leale provided the Hitmen offense. Joe Bossolina contributed with 2 assists and some good hard physical play. David Lee turned away 18 shots and made some key saves down a man towards the end of the game to preserve the lead.


Game 2 was a come from behind win over a tough Philadelphia Hockey Club. After an early goal by Tommy Gilligan, the 15 team fell behind 2-1 late and scored 2pp goals by Matt Imbriano and Michael Angeletti. Imbriano added an empty net goal. Ricky Demario and Tommy Gilligan added assists on the pp goals late. Michael Bussanich was very strong in net keeping the team in the game most of the way.


Game 3 was a 6-2 loss to a tough NJ Rockets team. Goaltender David Lee played well throughout turning away 48 saves. Tommy Gilligan had two goals. John Dunphey added an assist. The 15 attempted a come back cutting the lead to 1 in the second but fell short as the Rockets converted two late goals.


Game 4 was a 4-2 win over the palm beach hawks. the offense put the Hawks goaltender under siege for most of the game putting up nearly 40 shots to their 17. goals were provided by Michael Angeletti, Matt Imbriano, Jack Noel and Daniel Ilizarov. Bussanich turned away 15 shots. The team played well throughout the weekend.
