Hitmen 16U Premier Earns Three League Wins at Showcase
It was a good weekend for the Hitmen 16U Premier squad as they defeated the Newbridge Academy 2-0, South Shore Kings 4-1 and the Springfield Pics 2-1.
The Hitmen opened up play on Friday night, knocking off the Newbridge Academy 2-0. Matt Esquerre and Connor Sedlak each scored while Tristan Neubart was solid in net making 30 saves for the win.
On Saturday night the 16U Premier team defeated the South Shore Kings 4-1. Will Fortescue and Tony Wang scored early in the first period and the Hitmen never looked back. Troy Clement added a goal late in the second and tallied three points in the game. Cole Brennan added an empty net goal to put the game out of reach. Nick Johansson made 12 saves in net for the victory.
The Hitmen returned to action on Sunday night, beating the Springfield Pics 2-1. The 16U Premier team dominated in quality scoring chances but the Springfield goalie was equal to the challenge. Luke Johnson and Tommy McCarren tallied a goal each to send the Hitmen to a 2-1 win. Neubart was strong in net making 22 saves.
